I couldn't either, so I gave up doing it that way!! I copied each text about 6 times and then had about 6 copies of the blamk box. Then it was just trial and error getting at the right speed (adding copies where needed!!) I'm sure there must be an easier way though!! LOL!!!!

Yep i even put it at 50000 just to see if it would really slow it down, and it still went just the same as the 100milliseconds did

I was making a siggy with blinking images and thats what i ended up doing too, i think i had about 4 frames of each image but couldn't do more or it would go over the 100k allowed lol

Is there a way to view the layers side by side rather than on top of each other?

Hello I am new to all this, and new to JM. I have been trying to figure out how to make a blinkie, but am a bit confused by the directions I am fine up until I get to this part:
Quote:
go to the layers channels, paths window and right click on your black layer and duplicate now you should have 2 there

next click on the text tool in the gimp window choose a color .. I used pink and click on your layer ...type something
*make sure u place your text in the right spot i had trouble moving the text*

now there are 3 layers in the ayers channels, paths window

duplicate the text layer

click on the new text layer and choose a different color for the text

in the layer window click on filters, animation, opt. difference
in the new box click
save[/b]
I go to the channels, paths window and duplicate it. But how do I open the new layers into windows of their own so that I can edit them? It would be nice if maybe you could show a picture of this. LOL I am so confused!

I thought I was following the directions perfectly, but by the time I get to the end of the instructions and have saved the blinkie it's not blinking between colors. What am I doing wrong?

Okie dokie...here is mine

After a little frustration, I figured it out.

Motsy, is it doing any kind of animation, or just basically staying on the one frame?
