Gimp blinky lesson part 2

another way to get the borders is to...

on the "GIMP window" click file>pref.>grids
set as you see in the pic


choose the circle (03) 3 x 3 pencil

open new layer

ok we are going to duplicate 3 layers ... close the eyes on 2 so u are working on the bottom layer

on your layer window VIEW>SHOW GRID

on the 1st layer skip 1 fill in 2 skip 4 ... fill in 2 skip 4 ... fill in 2 skip 4 going clockwise(SEE PIC)



the 2nd layer skip 5 fill in 2 skip 4... fill in 2 skip 4.. etc


the 3rd layer skip 7 fill in 2 skip 4... fill in 2 skip 4... repeat


animate as usual

show me ur finished blinkies!

thank you!

for some reason i still can't get the colors to change so it blinks 2 diff colors and the speed is super fast so i can't make one saying diff things but oh well!

heres what i got!




i think its pretty decent!


lets see what i can come up with today! haha


i really appreciate you doing these lessons! i've always wanted to learn how to make blinkies but couldn't figure it out!! thank you thank you thank you!!

How can i get to have 2 different text blink together, like ChAsIeSmAmA ??? I like that a lot

ok looks like i got it - - but how did I???

---re-editing---
I got to understand how to bring 2 text into animation, but its kinda fast. i kept delay between frames as 500, but it doesnt seem to help

try duplicating the layers by 2 or 3

yeah i duplicate the layers!! i usually put 2 or 3 in between. it just depends on what its blinking!

When I try to pencil in the border nothing shows up. For some reason there's nothing on there. What's wrong?
