Hi Ladies! I am new to this board and this is my first post here!
I have never been much of a drug taker in the first place, but when I became pregnant I began researching drug options and I decided that no drugs or side effects were worth it and decided on a natural childbirth with a midwife at the hospital right away.
I stayed extremely active throughout my pregnancy but I new I was getting close when I was crampy off an on the week before I had my daughter. Over the weekend I thought I was leaking urine, because you read about that sometimes, and although it wasn't a lot, it was annoying enough to change several times a day. On Monday, I decided to look it up and decided to call my midwife. I went in and I passed 3/3 tests determining that it was my fluid, not urine! I begged them to let me go home and round up my own things and I came back to the hospital several hours later. I started off feeling great and I bounced, rocked, and rolled on a birthing ball for a while. As the pain increased I switched my sitting in bed, to going into the birthing tub. It got to a point of extreme pain and I begged to push and I pushed for two hours, determined to get this baby out. I had a healthy 7lb. 10 oz baby girl at 2:54am on April 4, 2006 named Alexa Elise.
I believe natural childbirth is the only way to go, I did everything I could to set myself up for success.
