I am 5 1/2 months pregnant. I have been cramping for the first 3-4 months with brown ooze and spotting. I just started cramping again. I went to the ER the other day because I bled so heavily. They said the baby is not growing normally and the hearbeat is very very faint. Could I be in the urge of having a miscarriage?

The father of this baby died of a heroin overdose. Could him doing drugs have an effect on the baby? I can't get in at the doctor for two more weeks.

Please respond to me. I am nauseated, spotting, in tears, headaches, chills and cramping so bad. The cramps are worse than PMS cramps.

Tricia ~ I am not totally sure but am fairly certain that heroin use can cause genetic abnormalities in the sperm. Sometimes this abnormality doesn't form until later in the pregnancy & this could possibly be what is going on. Honestly, I am surprised the hospital didn't keep you or that your OB won't see you. It seems to me as though you may be experiencing preterm labor & should be monitored. I would def go back to the ER hon!!! You need medical attention immediately if you are experiencing cramping that intense.

We will all be praying for you! Please come back & let us know!

I went to the ER. They did the D&C right there. I spent a few nights in the hospital. The baby died in me. I found out it was a girl when I was 5 months pregnant. I was going to name her Heaven because that is where her father is at (and my 5 1/2 year old son(same father)) But the baby wasn't even formed how it usually is this far along. I bled so bad so I went to the ER. I knew what happened, but only sac came out of me. There was nothing to her. I got ultrasound pictures and they told me that it wasn't developing normally but, I sure as heck didn't think that this would happen. There was nothing to her...At all. I have never seen anything like that before. I know for a fact that I am done having children. This scared me too much. I don't want it to happen again. I got my tubes tied. Only 24 years old. The hospital treated me better than my OB did. I have to send them something.
(By the way, I didn't do any drugs or drink) You can reply back to me. Or email Tricia0999@aol.com

I am terribly sorry for your losses. I don't even know what I would do in your situation. I am so sorry. I think the best thing for you is support and help from people who genuinly care. Stay on here, do you have any family that is close to you? You should surround yourself with people who love you.You are in my prayers.
