I found out right before Thanksgiving of 2001 that I was pregnant. Around the 2nd week of December I started spotting. I went to the ER and had an ultrasound which showed a nice steady heartbeat. I was told everything was fine and to go home. A week later I started bleeding and another ultrasound showed no heartbeat. I was crushed. I was told to bring the "products of conception" back once I passed it so they could make sure I passed everything. Come to find out the cause was more than likely due to an MMR vaccine that the hospital made me have because I did not have my child health immunizations (they should have performed a titer.) I didn't know I was pregnant at the time of the immunization, and they didn't even bother to ask me.
Anyway, I was not given the option for the D&C as our hospital is military and doesn't want to spend the money or time. I waited 5 days before I started having significant cramps. After passing the baby I took it to the hospital and they confirmed it was a complete miscarriage. ~i~ Aerin December 23, 2001
My husband and I had been trying for over 3 years for another baby. I was told I probably could not get pregnant due to thyroid issues. I was surprised to find out I was pregnant on January 15, 2007. I went to the doctor the following day and told my hcg level was only 19, and to come back in two days. The second level was 20.7. I was told there was no hope. I went back two days later and the number doubled, and then again two days later. I was told that I was pregnant and congratulations. I still knew something wasn't right. A week later I started spotting. I had been cramping the entire pregnancy. I went to the ER and was told my numbers were only 136. A week later I started bleeding and passed my baby on February 5, 2007. ~i~ Bali
