Here's my take. Not sure if Im doing this right.

I use Photobucket.
I bronzed the picture and played with the hue and lightness
I put a shadow border around the picture then a thick picture frame border.

Edited to fix picture

Cute shot and pretty girl!

The first and most obvious thing that needed to be addressed with this image were the color issues. The image had an overall and severe cyan/green cast to it. IMHO, no matter how sweet a capture is or how perfect the exposure or processing...if it has color issues as severe as this image that's the only thing that matters. I did some layers using both color balance as well as the selective color adjustor to try and bring the color as close as I could to correct. If you're wondering how you can tell when the color is correct and easy gauge is to look at the whites of the eyes and any other whites in the image. They should be white or as close to white as you can get them.

After I had the color corrected I brightened the subject using a curves/contrast/brightness adjustment layer being careful to erase back any areas I didn't want changed. I also did a multiply/erase the subject back layer to darken the background just a tiny bit and to bring even more focus back onto the little girl's face.

I did a slight sharpening mask on her eyes and did a tiny bit of dodging to brighten and bring out the pretty, deep blues that are naturally in her eyes (being careful of course not to overdo it and leave her with creepy eyes...lol).

I think I ran a LilyBlue action somewhere in there too.

Lastly I ran Noise Ninja and erased back her hair and eyes as it left them too sharpened.

A final crop to un-center her eyes just a bit and that was that .

Here's my play. I lighted with a curves adjustment, sharpened with unsharp mask and then ran an action to convert to B&W.

Here is mine:

I use CS3... adjusted colour balance and slightly sharpened the whole image Re-sharpened the eyes and lightened them. Saved the file. Converted it to B&W and then used the history tool to bring back colour in the face, eyes and hair. Used levels to even out the skin tones and boost contrast a little.

This is my first time entering and I'm really new to this so I'm going to try to remember what I did.

I played with the coloring and sharpened it a little. I know I did something else but I can't remember what it was called. LOL
I then turned it b/w but left the eyes in color. Would have played around with the eyes more but I don't know how.
