Hey everyone! I'm sorry I haven't' been on more often lately. I've returned to work and I'm still learning to balance work and being a mom..and trying to have another baby!

We had the IVF retrieval this morning. We only got 5 eggs, which I feel is a little disappointing. I took high doses of stim meds this time. Even more than last time and last time we got 10 eggs. I know it only takes one, but with our history I was really hoping for more.

We get our fertilization report tomorrow morning. My doctor said it's typically about 70% that fertilize. We had all 10 fertilize the last time which was really lucky. What happens next depends on how many fertilize. If only 2 or 3 fertilize my doctor may just implant them in without doing the PGD. That is disappointing because the whole reason we did IVF was for the PGD.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get lucky and all 5 fertilize. We are doing ICSI to improve our chances of fertilization. If they don't all fertilize then we'll probably just do what the doctor recommends, since he has way more experience in this than we do.

As you can tell, I'm obviously disappointed. But I guess it's better we are having low count problems this time around rather than the last time we did this. I'm in a much better place now than I was then. And if we are not successful this time then I will be able to handle it better than had we not been successful last time. kwim.

Say some prayers for good fertilization.

The report is in and the news was disappointing. We only had one egg fertilize. We've had such success on our own and during the last cycle that I was truly surprised at the outcome. Since we only had one embryo we were going to implant it no matter what, so no PGD. That is disappointing because the whole reason we did IVF was for the PGD.

The transfer was today. The embryo was a grade A 9-cell embryo, which is very good. If we were going to have only one embryo this is what we would want it to be. So for that, I am thankful. We are now officially in the two week wait.

Say some prayers for us.

Yay for a strong little embryo

I know you were hoping for better results but it only takes one *fingers crossed*. And I will be praying for that little one you got.

So when is the test date? Valintines Day????
