I haven't posted in a lonnggg time but I try to respond to new posts when I can. I am 36 weeks and so far so no major issues, just a lot of little ones that are concerning the docs. I am on blood thinners (40 mg 2x/day of lovenox), along with baby aspirin and high dha prenatals. I go to the ob, get a sonogram and a non stress test every week. Yep, that would be three separate doctors appointments. Thank goodness the doc is only one metro stop away from work! The u/s are because of clots in my placenta. They monitor the dopplers on Laurens umbilical cord to make sure there are no obstructions to the bloodflow. The OB appointments are because my bp is a bit high and I have a little protein in my urine. No other pre-eclampsia symptoms, and when they take my bp when i'm laying on my side it's normal. The non-stress test is because my last doppler was a little elevated, so they want to make sure Lauren isn't in distress. I knew going in that I would have to have a c-section because I had fibroid surgery in december of 2008, so they don't think my patched up uterus can withstand hard labor. Now that I'm in the homestretch, I just carry my suitcase in the trunk of my car because at any point during the monitoring appointments if they see something funky they will send me to L&D. My official c/s date is 2/25, and I would really like to keep her baking until then. The funny thing about it is I feel fine, other than the standard fatigue, backaches and not really being able to sleep comfortably. I am still so thankful every day for my little miracle baby sticking around. Sometimes I still can't believe it's happening.
My prayers for a healthy baby to hold in my arms were answered on February 18, 2010. God is GOOD! Mommy to 6 angel babies. Nicole
