So I'm shocked one minute, excited the next. I just got my mind wrapped around the 2/25 date and was preparing to work the rest of this week to wrap things up at the office, and just check emails next week while I finished nesting so we'd be ready for Lauren. So, yesterday I get a call from my OB. I knew something was up b/c I had an appointment scheduled with him today so it was something that couldn't wait. I did a 24 hour urine sample because I've had slightly elevated BP and some protein in my urine for two weeks in a row, and sent the specimen to the lab on Friday. The doc said their was enough protein in my urine, combined with all of the other little things I have going on (black spots that look like blood clots in my placenta, slightly elevated dopplers and baby's belly is measuring a week behind) they want to go ahead and do the section this Thursday, 2/18. As in less than 2 days from now. I'm 37 weeks so she shouldn't have to spend any time in the NICU, I just wish I had a little more time. I know some of you ladies would love to switch places with me, but I wanted to have a few more days with just me and Lauren. With all the aches, pains, 3 dr's appointments a week, I'm still enjoying the pregnancy. After all I've been through to get her here, I still feel like every day of this pregnancy is a miracle and cause for celebration. Soon, I'll have to share her with everyone else, though I can't wait to meet my little miracle baby.

How every exciting!!! I will bepraying for you both! 37w is a good gestational age. I am sure she will be just fine.

Did you know the fact that your baby is a girl and that she is African-American really work in her favor since she will becoming at 37w? Black girls babies have the highest sucess rate for preemies and typically need less invervention and or time in the NICU

Black Baby Girls More Likely To Live When Born Very Premature

YAY!!! 37 weeks is a great gestation, typically considered to be full term.

Good luck today and enjoy your little girl!
