I'm terrified. Optimistic, but terrified nonetheless. My first pregnancy ended when emergency surgery caused preemie labor. (was in a developing country without proper technology.......my son was bigger and more developed than the last duggar baby and a few of octomom's babies.......that eats me alive all the time.) Pregnancies 2-4 ended in one regular miscarriage and two missed miscarriages by 13 weeks.

I'm almost 41 (next month) and just found out this morning that I'm 4 weeks pregnant. Anyone have any similar stories with a good ending? I could use some good news.

congrats and welcome!

I'm sure someone will pop by and see this. more women on this board have received their rainbow babies than those who have not (like moi, but i'm not trying yet), I'm sure they will have some things to tell you!

Have you had a beta yet?

Thanks for the replies, it gives me a little boost to know that there are some success stories out there. At the risk of sounding dumb, what is a beta?

A beta is a blood test that gives you a number as to your levels of HCG rather than a pregnant or not pregnant result.

Sorry that I missed this! Congratulations. I am 23 weeks along after 5 miscarriages. Everything seems perfect with me. So, there is light at the end of the tunnel of RPL.

Thank you *kiliki* for my beautiful siggy!

Congrats, geogeek! My first labs will be done this saturday....i'm new to this area and have had a tough time finding a doctor, but I finally got an appointment. My concern is that one of my previous miscarriages happened after having a heartbeat on ultrasound. I swear, I'm not going to let myself celebrate being pregnant until this baby is far along enough to survive outside the womb. I know that sounds horrible, but I can't help it. I'm just being super careful and super healthy and going for the best.

There is a lady that had losses and is pregnant with a thriving baby at age 42. It doesn't sound horrible at all. I am hoping and praying to get to 30 weeks. It is hard to enjoy pregnancy when every Braxton Hicks contraction is terrifying. Nothing you feel is horrible.

Thank you *kiliki* for my beautiful siggy!
