It looks like baby girl is trying to make an early appearance. I went to the hospital again this morning because I was having some heavier spotting than I've had. It turns out my cervix has shortened from 3 cm on Friday to 1 cm today according to the ultrasounds. The fluid around the baby has also decreased but only slightly. Baby looks fine but she is a bit small (about 2 weeks behind); she has measured small since my 20 week ultrasound and I was surprised today when the o/b changed my due date to July 4th (a week later). She said the ultrasound that I had at 14 weeks measured a week behind but was reported incorrectly. I think that's strange but, whatever, I have bigger problems.

I was given a steroid shot and prescribed bed rest. If I can make it to at least 36 weeks that would be ideal but we will see. I go back to the hospital tomorrow for another steroid shot and I have an ultrasound on Monday. Hopefully, baby girl stays put for a couple more weeks and turns out of the breech position. Fingers crossed.

Update- baby girl is determined to come out. I started having back pain every time I had a Braxton hick and went back to the hospital. I am now 3 cm dilated, my cervix is 0.5 cm long, and they can feel my bag of water bulging. I will be checked again soon and if there is no change they will let me wait a day or two but if I progress more then I will need a c-section today because baby is breech.

Thankfully, I pushed for my due date to not be changed (I still don't understand why it was) and after reviewing my 11 week u/s I get to keep June 26th as my due date. Being 35 weeks makes me feel better since baby is coming in the next couple days. I will KUP.

Yikes!

Hopefully she stays put another couple of weeks. Silly little girl, you might be eager to meet her, but just not yet!
