Hi,
I'm using OPK's. I got the Answer brand 20 pack sticks. I really do not like them at all. I'm on day 14. Lately, I have had some ovulation pain, sore breasts, and EWCM. But the opk shows nothing of Ovulation. I'm lucky to get 1 line. I've read the directions to make sure I'm doing it right. *dumb question ahead* Also, I've taken a few out of the trash and there are 2 lines when before there was only 1. Do opk's have evap lines?? Since their were 2 lines I've been waiting longer for results. Still only 1 line. My cycles are usually 30 days, so I might not be o'ing yet. I did take clomid, but it says it won't affect the test. It's just frustrating. I might go and buy a digital OPK tonight and use those for the next few days. Maybe I'm testing too early. I did test at 9:00 and I just read you aren't suppose to test until the afternoon. What brands do you use for OPK's??? And what time do you test?

I just used the Walgreen's generic brand OPK. I've only used them for once cycle so far, but I had no problems. I think the rules for OPKs are different than for HPTs. Since it detects an LH surge, and LH is produced most heavily in the morning hours, it's best to test between 10am-5pm (some say 2pm-8pm). YOu have to give the LH in your blood some time to get to your urine. Also, I think after the time period they say you should wait, you can have 2 lines but those will be inaccurate. It's only if you get 2 lines within the allotted time is it accurate. Hope that helps.

I use answer brand. This is the first cycle I have used them and gotten 2 lines. Before, (was about 2 years ago) I never got anything but until I started charting last month, I never knew how long my cycle was so I think that's why I never got anything. The directions say that you should never use results after 5 minutes because they can darken. I have also noticed that when I compare pics that I took right after, to the actual tests, they do look darker so I am assuming they do have evap? I am just thrilled that they are actually showing something because there for a while, I didn't think I was ovulating. Some people test with FMU, CD 15(yesterday) I used one at 1pm and again at 11:30pm. I have read that you are supposed to hold it for 4 hours before you use one to get the best results. I hope you get the results you want soon!
