Hello! I'm new here. DH and I were trying to avoid pregnancy, until after we move next month. But I think that we my have done just the opposite. I m going by "gut" feelings, nd my boobs!!!! YIKES I can't even sleep on my tummy any more. They just HURT. That says to me that we may have a sweet surprise growing in there!!! Which would be AWESOME!!! Sooo, my question is, I heard you can use OPK's (sort of) as HPT's. Just for fun, I used one yesterday. 9DP (sex) I can't really say when I ovulated, Because, the day I thought I did, obviously wasn't. So, anyyway, It came up darker than the control line. (CD 29) I normally get AF on CD 31. If I ovulated, when we had Free Sex, AF is due on CD 32. Soo, anyway, I am wondering if that is a reliable positive/?? Also, I took another one this morning with FMU and it was there, but not as dark as the control line? I can't figure it out. I would assume it would get darker? I also took a FRER and BFN. Soo, anyone done the same thing?? ANy advice???

Thanks!
Erica

opk as hpt worked for me but not until I was around 5 weeks along. I started trying opk as hpt as soon as I got my bfp (8dpo) up until I finally got the opk to turn positive (exactly 5 weeks along)
I would say that since you got a bfn on a hpt and a bfp on an opk you may just be ovulating very late. If you decide not to try and aviod pregnancy this month I would suggest you order dh to the bedroom just in case your are ovulation late.

Like Miles said- peeonastick.com has good examples. She got her bfp on an opk much before I did. I was using the same opks as she was. I also had extreamly high hcg (so high the doctor said he it may be twins or triplets--it's just one though). I'm not sure about this, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it may be the hcg that turns the opk positive when your pregnant (LH turns it positive if your ovulating).
