Yesterday while walking through the grocery store, my son asked if we could get some cereal, I said no and then I stopped, and thought about it. It's been two years since we've bought cereal! It's the small things like this that make me feel like I'm succeeding in our goal to eat healthier and getting away from the processed foods.

Have any of you had any moments like that, where you just want to pat yourself on the back?

Ours has been bread. We haven't bought it in quite a while and then DH shows up with it the other night for hot turkey sandwiches *face palm*

Me too! Every time we eat out of the garden it's like, "Haha, stick it to The Man!"

Our weakness is ice cream well actually its my DH and kids. I feel empowered when they decide to go and I just get water. They always say I'm missing out but I feel like they are!

Yes I do. I just started 2 weeks ago making everything from scratch due to my son's pediatrician recommending it for his hyperactivity. Even though it has been a short amount of time I feel proud of myself for not depending on processed foods anymore. Surprisingly my 4 year old doesn't give me a hard time when he wants something and I tell him it isn't good for him. He accepts it and moves on.

I went from not cooking at all (my husband cooked) to someone who cooks from scratch. Something I never thought would happen. lol

Good for you!!! We have been on vacation for about two weeks now and it's thrown our diet WAY off... once we get home it's going to be from scratch. I can't wait! I've noticed a huge difference in the way my children behave because of what they have been eating!
