We got about a foot or so of snow last night. I shovelled this morning because DH was gettting ready for work and it helps clear my mind. Well everything was warm except my butt and legs. They were red when I changed to dry pants.
It is cold! My DH works for the highway dept. so when it snows, I am spouseless! My neighbors take pity on me and show up with snowblowers and plows!! One plowed my driveway, another cleared my front walk-way and another is doing the back walk-way now!! DH has been working since 1:00 yesterday afternoon and doesn't expect to be home until sometime this afternoon.
(which means he'll be really tired and grumpy! )
Yeah, I hear you!! We got about 15". We have a snowblower, so my husband did our yard, then lots of our neighbors who don't have blowers. Then Brian and I helped dig out some neighbors who were parked on the street and had gotten plowed in. (OK: a vent: one couple I don't know really well was digging out their car, so we went over to help. It turns out that the car belonged to their son-- age 19 or so-- and it was a good half hour before he got his tush out to help. I cannot believe he allowed his mother to shovel out his car while he stayed inside. If he were my son, it could sit there till the spring thaw!!! IF you're old enough to drive, then be adult enough to at least help your mother dig out your car. AAARRRGGG)
But as much as I really love snow, and enjoyed the 2 hours or so I was out, I have to admit: I'm already sore!!
We invited a friend from down the block over for a glass of wine during the blizzard; she's having us over for dinner tonight. And even better: her 15 year old girls (our baby sitters) just picked up our kids to take them sledding.
Gotta love neighbors!!

Well we are getting the same amount of rain that everyone else is getting snow! We've been on flood watch for a week! All our rivers have flooded over. They were showing these helicpoter shots of these poor buffalo this guy owns trying to find dry land All of the property was flooded over and they finally found this one dry spot and were trying to keep the buffalo there by bringing bread out morning and night. One guy has to row over a mile just to get to his house. Its crazy. And its been warm too so the snow in the mountains is melting along with all the rain so its only making it worse. Its been in the 60s here.
