A little background: my hubby and I own a business that we run out of our home. We don't have a separate business line, we just use our regular phone number. We signed up to be on the national "no call" list, which really cut down on telemarketing calls to us, personally, but we do get some calls for our business, most of which are either web-design companies or insurance companies.

SO, today I receive a call from Blue Cross/Blue Shield, a woman asking to speak to the manager and saying she'd like to give us an insurance quote.
I politely said, "No thanks, we're not interested. And could you please remove our name from your call list?" She replies, very snottily, "I'll call back."
I said, "No you won't call back. You do realize that you're required to take us off of your list if we ask, right?" (Or something like that - I really was still being very polite)
She then replies, "Or you'll do what?"
I sort of sputtered because I'm thinking, "What in the WORLD?!?" and I said, "Do you realize that companies are being sued for not removing people from their call list?"
And she replies, "So, you'll do what if I don't take you off the list? I'll call back!"
And I said something brilliant like, "No, do not call back." and I hung up on her.

I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!!!!
I called to Blue Cross and "reported" the incident, although I'm sure their telemarketing is farmed out to an outside company. It just made me so mad I had to share!!!
