When I was about 4-5 I was in the backseat of our car, or should I say "boat" (lol) and we were parked in the school parking lot waiting to pick up my brother when this woman came flying in the parking lot and hit all the parked cars and then our "boat" ended her motion... I was fine, my brother just got in the car and hit his teeth on the dash and my poor moms head hit the windshield (She wasn't wearing a seat-belt)

When I was about 15-16.. I went off roading with a bunch of friends in a Jeep Wrangler and as we were doing doughnuts in a field, the jeep hit a rock and turned over...LOL (I got a concussion that time)

When I was 16 I was the passenger in my friends car and she was going down a hill, the road was wet and full of leaves and she slammed on her break and went into a ditch and whacked a mail box..LOL

Just recently, I was attempting to make a clean pass in a passing zone, my car was almost completely passed the car and they turned left into me.. I got a ticket for left of center (which I'm fighting) and I'm going to court to contest it next week...

Other then that, I've never caused an accident or been injured in one..

Anyone have any stories they'd like to share?

Mine is a bit weird - bear w/ me here.

in march of '01 I began having dreams of a guy w/ a gun.
I had these dreams every other week.

in april I started having them every week.
always the same, a guy covered / hidden by black & white w/ a gun.
he was in a white car. once i even saw the flash of the gun.

the last week of april, 1st week of may,
I had this dream every night. I was so stressed out.
white cars freaked me out. dh said he couldn't avoid them lol.

May 5th -
we were on our way to walmart, the light turned green but no one moved.
suddenly we heard brakes, I turned to see where they were coming from.
Thats when I felt the impact.

dds was 5 months old, dd was 19 months old.
dd started screaming, ds was quiet. I don't know which scared me more.

dh asked if I was ok, he said its ok, 'see ? there are cops right there."
ahead of us (other side of the street) were a bunch of cops.

suddenly 1 cop appeared at my window, he asked "are you ok ?"
I said yes, we are. then he YELLS at me GET OUT OF YOUR CAR NOW !!
this was my 1st accident, I didn't think they should yell at you.

when we hesitanted he yelled again ,"GET OUT NOW OR YOU WILL BE SHOT !
YOU ARE IN THE LINE OF FIRE !!!

turns out the reason why traffic was stopped, is because the cops had been chasing a carjacking suspect.
they had him on the street laying face down. they knew he had a gun.
the cop said (after we moved to a safe place) if he made 1 move, they would have shot him.
we were in their direct line of fire.

the car which hit us was a white full size bronco, it hit us so hard we hit the
white truck in front of us. we were in an escort wagon, back end prolly saved the babies.
that was so smashed. the steering wheel even broke !

all the cops were standing behind their car doors.
men hidden / covered w/ black & white
w/ guns

after that day, I never had the dream of being shot again.
and dh believes all dreams & 'feelings" I get.

That gave me shivers!

We were in a little accident in November. We were driving down a street right near our house when a truck came out of a parking lot and T-Boned us. Luckily we were all going super slow (under 30 km/h) so noone was hurt. It only damaged my car, not the truck.

Yeah I can remember one accident. It was a minor one. We were up at our camper. We decided to stop at Walmart Super Center in town to get some food for the weekend. Our son had a friend along. The light was green for us to turn into the parking lot of Walmart. Cars were turning into the parking lot. We were stopped for the moment so cars ahead of us could move. I see a car coming at us. It looked like she was on a cell phone talking. She never stopped for the red light. She keeps on going. Bumps our front bumper. Only cracking it. No one was hurt in anyway. No major damages to either car. We all pull into the parking lot of Walmart to exchange info. Well turns out a cop was on patrol and parked in the lot. Said he seen everything. Said the accident was the womans fault. This woman kept rambling on. Oh my baby is sick. My mother was watching the baby. It's sick. I was in a hurry to go take care of my baby. The cop asked her for her license and proof of insurance. She had no license with her or any proof of insurance. The cop was going to write her some expensive tickets. She kept going on about her baby being sick. Hoping the cop would just let her off the hook. Find out later she must of got about 1000$ in tickets then was ordered to pay us for any damages. The tickets were for talking on the cell and driving, not having her license with her and not having proof of insurance with her. Well of course the damages cost more than insurance would cover. Well it wasn't that bad. So I took the check sent us for a few hundred. Used it for other things. Never got the bumper crack fixed.

I've been in many. I have a large scar that goes from about 1/2 an inch under my hairline on the middle of my forehead straight back my head to the back. When I was 18 months old my mom, grandmother, and olderbrother were all in my mom's car and were going down a back road when an OFF DUTY cop ran a stop sign and hit us head on. Glass went everywhere, my mom says she remembers her glasses flying off and next thing she knew I was SCREAMING bloody murder. She turns back to me and there is blood. She freaks out! Everyone else is fine, but I was BETWEEN the seats and got the main spray of glass. Turns out I had a HUGE cut but other then that was fine. Right before he hit us. My blanket (which I still have to this day) that was balled up on the padded bar on my carseat I had buried my face in it and just showed the top of my head. Thus saving my face from major damage the drs said.

In highschool I was in 3 carwrecks in one day. First on the way to Tabernacle (christian school) My mom and I were rear ended. No big deal. THEN I was going over to my friend Keisha's house after school We were in her car and someone swerved and we hit them. After we were checked out and information exchanged. Her parents took us to her house. Her dad told us he didn't want her to be afraid to drive and that we should take his truck out. We ended up spinning out on graval and hitting an electrical pole. The pole fell across the front of the truck and we were stuck in there for 4 hours because of the live wires.

Can anyone guess why I don't drive LOL

Was in one with my mom when I was about 4 years old. I wasn't seriously injured (just hurt my arm a little, but not broken or anything) My mom on the otherhand smashed her head into the windshield (she wasn't buckled). Then when I was about 16 or 17 I rear-ended my boyfriend (at the time) No one was hurt, his car was ok, the front of my car (which was a boat, 1978 Caprice Classic, lol) was smashed (well, the grill was smashed in) but otherwise it was no big deal.

That's it, thank God!

Heavenly, that is the freakiest thing i have ever heard!

I was in a car accident when i was 19. My friend Kelly and i were coming home from visiting a friend. Kelly was driving. It was foggy and kind of rainy and the road we were on had all kinds of twists and turns. While going around one sharp turn the car slid and went off the road. We hit a tree head on. I blacked out as we started sliding so i never knew we hit anything until i woke up. I remember seeing lights and sirens and looking over at Kelly. I tried picking up my left arm but it didn't move and my whole sleeve was covered in blood. I can remember the paramedics who got me out of the car asking if i wanted my glasses. I looked at them like they were dumb because they were all smashed up and of no use to me. At the hospital i found out that i had broken my arm in three places(they said i braced myself on the dashboard with my left arm...like i said i blacked out and didn't know i was doing anything). I got plates and screws that are still in my arm to this day. Kelly wasn't so lucky though. She died that night. That was also the night my parents met my future husband to be.

I've been in two. One when I was 14 and was a backseat passenger and one about 10 years ago when I was driving and someone ran a stop sign and hit me. The one when I was a teen was pretty serious. The driver lost control on a wet road and hit a utility pole. The pole fell and trapped me in the car. I broke both lower legs, both femurs, both hips, my pelvis, lumbar spine, sacrum, ribs, nose, jaw and zygomatic arch(cheek bone). I had internal bleeding, a ruptured bladder and was in a coma for a couple weeks. I was in the hospital for 10 weeks and in a wheelchair and crutches going for physical therapy for almost a year after that. The pelvic fractures are that reason that all my children have been c-sections. I was lucky, looking at me a year after the accident you'd never know that anything had ever happened. The second accident wasn't a big deal except the bi*ch totaled my car and I tore a couple ligaments in my knee.

When i was 17 my ex husband (he was my bf at the time) Wrecked us. We were on the way to his fathers funeral and we went around a curve and hit an asphault truck head on. I didnt know it at the time and didnt find out until after we seperated that he was on drugs and messed up the day we wrecked.. grr.. Needless to say the ##### didnt get hurt he got a couple scratches. While i was sitting in the truck under the hood caught on fire scared the crap outa me.. I broke my left femur in 3 places and was bruised and cut up pretty bad.. Once i was outa the truck i just sat there thinking how lucky i was to be alive. When the rescure ppl got there they were telling me my leg was just dislocated from my knee cuz it wa sjust hanging there and i was like no i know its broke. ANd the guy was like honey if your leg was broke you'd be crying. WHen i got to the hospital they said the same thing til they x-ray'd me.. Then they were all suprised i wasnt crying in pain.. It was shock.. and the joy of not being hurt any worse here are some pics..

When I first got my liscense I was tboned By of all things, A Model T Ford. The Model T flipped over me as i was spinning around. i blacked out and when I came to i looked up to see the man in the Model T fall out onto the road. It was terrible. Luckily the man was ok, as far as i know he only had broken ribs.
My dh's friends joke that the only clean up needed was for the wood from the Model T to be swept away.

I've only been in one, and it was a minor fender bender.

My mom on the other hand has been in at least 11, and I learned to be a lot more cautious.

Ive been in two fender benders (one my fault) the other this guy in a truck hauling an RV slammed into me when I was at a stop sign.

I've been in one really serious accident. In 2004, I was about 7-8 months pregnant. DH (well we were not married yet) and I had driven to Oklahoma for his grandmother's funeral in February. Well we had a huge argument because that morning on the way we had gotten pulled over for speeding (20 over on the turnpike) and there had been snow flurries all day. Well after the funeral we were following his dad home. His dad was driving past the nursing home where DH's grandmother had died and DH was driving our car and looked over at the home. He didn't notice his dad start to turn into the parking lot so we slammed into the back of his dad going about 35. We were in an older car (an 85 El Camino ick) and the seatbelt I had on released itself when we hit. I was thrown forward and hit the windshield then fell to the floorboard. Which knocked me unconsious. The point of impact was totally on my side because his dad had almost completely turned. DH and my father in law were fine.

The next thing I remember is being in an ambulance and someone saying that they couldn't hear the baby's heartbeat. I passed back out and vaguely remember being loaded into a helicopter and a few minutes of the helicopter ride and an EMT asking if I could feel the baby move which I couldn't. Passed back out and woke up later in a trauma room with nurses hovering over me and in a neck brace and strapped down. DH was no where to be seen and they kept asking me if I knew where I was and what day it was. I knew the day but had no idea where I was.

As I was laying there trying to find out what was going on I started feeling light contractions that quickly got harder and harder until they were about 6 minutes apart. So I tell the nurse who was trying to get the doctor to do something about it and the doctor said he didnt think I was in labor and that I was faking it. The nurse went out of her way and wheeled down an ultrasound machine to show him I was really in labor.

So what does the wonderful doctor do? Sends me for XRays. I had Xrays of my arms, legs, back, neck, shoulders, head, and stomach. THEN a CT scan!!! By now the contractions were about 3 minutes apart and the doctor finally said "oh well we should stop those!" Gave me terbutaline and sent me to Labor and Delivery...where they FINALLY tell me Im in Tulsa (the accident was in this little town between OKC and Tulsa) and they let my DH in to the room. They were able to stop my labor and after having to be in the hospital for 3 days they released me.

I got home went to work the next day and collapsed. Apparently I had a horrible concussion when I was discharged that the stupid ER doctor said wasn't possible. Ended up in the hospital yet again!

Needless to say I have never returned to Oklahoma

But I was fine after a few days and the baby was fine and ended up going full term.

I've had a couple of minor fender benders, those were no big deal.

I was in a wreck back in '99 that completely totaled my brand new Nissan. I was trying to cross a 4 lane highway to get to the backroad that connected to it. The highway didn't have a center lane to wait in so I just looked both ways and hit the gas. I'd crossed there a hundred times before. Well, my car was half on the backroad when I heard brakes screech and I looked up in time to see a car plow into my passenger side. It sent my car spinning in circles, I forgot how many. I was buckled but was bruised from head to toe on my right side from hitting the door.

I was an EMT-B on the volunteer squad back then so the first thing I did was run to the woman and check on her, then called for help on my radio. Then later, I felt stupid for helping her because in court she never mentioned that I'd checked on her and I was found guilty even though she had ample room to move to the other lane. There was absolutely no traffic out at that time of day. She could have easily avoided the accident...

Then my parents (d'uh!) told me that I had wrecked to get out of college...huh??? They never asked if I was hurt or not. Just blah, blah, blah!!! Sheesh...

Oh well, I guess my story is pretty boring compared to the others.

The accident that really sticks out in my mind, I was 7 months pregnant with my youngest. I was driving, DH was in the passenger seat. We were getting ready to make a right hand turn so I slowed down, turned on the signal & stopped. I was waiting for a girl on a bike to cross the parking lot. I look up in my rearview mirror and start yelling "STOP STOP." DH looked at me like I was weird. What I saw was this BIG pick-up truck coming right behind us. We drove a Ford Tempo at the time. She smacked right into us. We were actually in front of the police station so a sgt. had gone out of the building to use his cell phone. The girl driving the truck said I stopped all of a sudden and that she was only going "10 miles an hour" in a 35 zone. HUH?! Well, she got cited and I had to go to the ER because I had back ain AND contractions. I was cleared for neck injury and trauma so they sent me upstairs for a stress test to see if CJ was alright from the accident. Thank God I didn't have him then. This was in Sept. & I was due in Nov.

Oh, and I got a REALLY good settlement out of her insurance company b/c I was pregnant.
