That is what we do.. We watch all the disaster then when it gets down to 5 or 6 we tune in... Man this year topped the cake... Did you happen to see the one with Fantasia's cousin.. Man he walked in like he could sing.. Oh my.. And then there was one guy I felt so bad for.. They kept laughing at him through the whole song... And he kept singing and wanted to sing another song.. I think the first time they laughed I would of walked out. How humilitating..[/b]

There were 2 guys from my hometown dealing with American Idol..
Scott Savol was the one.. and I can't remember the other guys name.. He never made it through, but he has a recording contract with a smaller record company.. IMO the dude can sing..
The shows are about ratings.. I understand that, but at the same time I think its cruel and unusual punishment.. They make it look like the 3 judges weed through everyone and pick the *best*
They interviewed the guy who never made it through, and he explained the process..
he said you wait in line, FOREVER, They all had to wait at cleveland stadium when it came to cleveland (thats where I'm from btw) Then theres these lil tents.. and you wait your turn and then go into a lil tent in front of these people, they let you sing about 15 seconds and either tell you yeah go on ahead or no...
So all those people that you see on tv, were weeded out through the thousands of people who tried out, and were basically filled with this big ray of hope that they have talent and they are good b/c they made it to the next round....
They pass the not so great and the outright horrible people through just to humiliate them on T.V. I think that might be a big reason why some of those people get so worked up and ticked at the judges b/c they think they are good b/c they made it this far and then the judges are like, no you stink...
I thought about going down there and trying out but I'm more of a Kareoke (sry can't spell) singer myself.. I don't like to sing in front of people unless its mommys night out and I've had a few to lose my inhibitions...

P.S-Sorry about my sloganizer siggy.. it changes every 30 seconds.. and I have no idea what its going to say next, and I have no control over what it says, I just saw one that I didn't think was appropriate.. If I keep (or anyone else) noticing not such appropriate slogans, I'm going to have to remove it..
If it bothers you, go ahead and send me a PM and I'll fix it..
Thanks
Becky
