I think you should let him try. Just make sure you have a plastic cover on the mattress. We did that with Ave and he has never ever had a nighttime accident.

I'd go the no diaper route. Kids can get confused on potty training. Diapers for bed and undewear all day. I'd go underwear all day and night. I would put a plastic sheet on the matress underneath the normal sheets.

What a big boy!! Do they still make the underwear that is a little thicker, has more padding in the crotch area? Make sure you run him to the bathroom as soon as he wakes! And of course limit the liquids at night time.

Good luck!

I would definately try it. He may surprise your husband, if not just change the sheets and go forward. At least he is showing interest in getting out of diapers.

I agree with the others and just do it!

He might have a couple of nights where he wets the bed, but he sounds ready to start wearing Big boy underwear to bed!!!

Let us know how it goes tonight!!

My dd refuses a diaper but we know she won't go all night without having to pee. Sometimes she wakes up, but not normally. If you think he won't wake in the night to go, he probably will have an accident in the early morning hours. But sine our dd refuses a diaper, we wait till she falls asleep and then slip one on! Anyway a tip if you need it down the road. Works for us instead of fighting with her over it.

Try double-layering the bed. (Matress protector, sheet, protector, sheet.) That way if you do have a middle-of-the-night problem, you can just peel off the top layer and go back to bed.
