My favorite vacation was when I was 18 and I went to Canada with my best friend Darby and her family. We went to Victoria British Columbia and we went the Butchart gardens and to Nanaimo. It was a blast, but when I got home I found out that my mom had had her second stroke and was in the hospital so it was kind of bitter sweet she had to learn to talk all over again.
Well I haven't done anything too exciting, I guess I lead a pretty sheltered life. I would have to say going to NC with my friend when we were 16. We were staying with her grandfather, but he never really paid much attention to what we were doing, so we had full run over his house.
For our honeymoon, we didn't have time or really the money for anything too big so we went to this little resort town close by called Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We got married at a little bed and breakfast, with just our parents and a few close friends present. Had a little reception of the best cake ever, and punch. Rode off in a horsedrawn carriage ride around the town. Had a candlelit steak dinner at a cabin on the lake. Went back to the B&B had more cake and a bit of champagne while relaxing in the jacuzzi while it rained outside. Watched movies all night, had an EXCELLENT breakfast, did some sight seeing....mainly just walking around and talking. Had lunch at a little balcony cafe while it lightly rained and we got to overlook the downtown area. Walked back to the B&B watched more movies and more jacuzzi time while we waited for the rain to let up. When it did we walked around watching all the new flowers opening up. Just enjoying the quiet town. Had dinner at a little Italian place that was in a little converted house. Went back to the B&B for more cake. Next morning had another great breakfast, checked out and went back to town. Had old fashioned photos taken, did some shopping and had another breakfast. Then came home.
It was the best 3 days I have ever had. Just quiet and relaxing...the PERFECT wedding and honeymoon
Our anniversary is the end of the month, and if I wasnt going to be 9 months pregnant, we would go back!
My favorite was when I was a teenager and we used to go to the Keys. Stay on Marathin or Sugar Loaf and then drive down to Key West. Would LOVE to do that again someday just the hubby & me (he has NEVER been south of Cincy). But it will have to wait a few years.
Also, this last Sept. I got to see my mom in Orlando for the 1st time in 7 years (I had to testify in court against my ex-step-dad who sexually abused us and he is doing it to his new step-daughter). Even under the circumstances, I was SO glad to see her. We went to Universal Studios and had dinner at Margaritaville.
I also got to see my sister for the 1st time in 7 years in October. She had her 2nd baby and I went down there for a week to help out. I enjoyed seeing my sis, BIL & 2 nephews. Took about 200 pictures in just that week!
Thank you KimberlyD0 for my absolutely beautiful siggy!
When I went to the Caribbean with my family on a cruise when I was sixteen. Best vacation EVER.[/b]
heh heh I live in the Caribbean so I know what you mean.
I've been to England, Canada, US (different parts of the US) ... and quite honestly, my favourite vacation spot is none other than our sister isle Tobago or at Mayaro Beach right here in Trinidad ... I just love it ... give me a beachfront beach house and I'm good to go!

We go on a caribbean cruise every year and I have to say, it's heaven. My favorite part is waking up and eating breakfast on the balcony and watching the sun rise over the sapphire blue water. And then exploring the local underwater wild life on our excursions.
Our last one got changed because of the huricane Wilma and we ended up getting to see Chichen Itza. Absolutely breath taking and eye opening.
We go during the off seasons and so there are less people (and it's cheaper) and I don't feel like I'm always getting herded places.
Thinking about it now makes me want to book another one
Last June Dh, Lily and I went to Colorado on vacation. It was the first trip I had ever taken with dh and the first trip with my daughter as well. It was definitely stressful, but we did have a great time.
