Do you let your kids have a late night snack? It never fails in my house right at bedtime Ave is crying that his "tummy is all empty" and the only way to get him to bed is to give him a little something. I have tried to absolutly stuff him at dinner but he is getting to that pick at his food age or stage. I have even moved dinner to a later hour. Any thoughts?
My kids get a small treat (if they eat their dinner, or at the very least TRY it if it's something new or they didn't like last time). Usually it's something not very healthy a cookie, a popsicle, or some popcorn. Usually about 30mins- 1 1/2 hrs before bed.
Well, I don't want to sound like an authority on this, because Danny isn't at that age yet, but isn't it a bad habit to get your kids into to eat before bedtime? I've read somewhere, not gonna find it right now, that it can lead to obesity (along with other factors, too, of course!).
If and when Danny wants to eat before going to bed ... I more than likely will tell him to drink a big glass of water. I'm all for a healthy after-dinner snack (a healthy cookie, carrots, etc.) ... but nothing within 2 hours of going to bed. But that's just me!
