I think it varies on the kid!

I had sleepovers with my best friend in kindergarten (4 years old) ...

I say if your child asks and pleads and begs ... and you know the other parents really well ... and your child feels safe and secure with them at their house without you there ... and your child knows they can come home if they get scared ...

I say 4 years old.

But some kids aren't ready for sleepovers until 6 or 7. It just varies from kid to kid.

Bailey is 5 and we've ATTEMPTED to let her go over to her friend's house for sleepovers....

But, at 12:30 at night, she wants to come home.

She's not quite ready.

Ok, I'm the mean mommy
My kids were middle school (9-12) age before their first "non relative" sleepovers.
