I just wanted to give everyone a little heads up. Now my wife is a frequent flyer on these forums and she told me about this thread where ladies were saying they were getting checks from their health insurance company from around $100-$700. Now i work for Medica Health Insurance Company in MN and how we do things here goes as follows.
In Network billing
Now when a policy holder goes to a in network provider, the provider sends the bill to your insurance company and then the insurance company processes the claim and sends the claim back to the provider to send to you. Then you get a statment from your insurance company of how its paying your bill and then you should get the bill of what you owe from the provider. Oh and providers aka hospitals, clinics.
Out Of Network billing
Now when you go out of network this is how you should be billed. You see provider, provider bills you, You complete a Claim Submission Form and mail to your insurance's claim office. Then your insurance company should send you a check to pay the providers bill you have. Now if you have already paid the bill thats no problem have a blast with the money you get.
If anyone has any questions about Medica's insurance just ask or if you need some help understanding your insurance just ask. I know medical insurance can be a lil bit confusing. I'm always here to help.
