We have Bonfire Night in the UK this weekend. I used to love going to firework displays but my son really wouldn't cope so we won't be going this year. Nor am I grappling with garden fireworks which are expensive, dangerous and difficult to light and then they're rubbish (apart from the rockets) when you do light them lol! I might get some parkin and treacle toffee in and we'll watch other people's rockets from the bedroom window.

Do you like fireworks? Do you agree with them being allowed in people's gardens or do you think they should just be operated by trained pyrotechnicians at a controlled display?

hi hun we did that last year stayed in and watched from zacs window in the warm with hot dogs mushy peas and bonfire toffee will be doing it again on sat but we are going out on friday.

i like to look at fireworks i prefer to do inside mind. no i don't agree with people being aloud to do it in your can't i think you should have to have a license or something. i can't see why anyone would want them in there garden and spend a small fortune on a few fireworks when you can go to a event pay next to nothing and see loads.

I like fireworks. We go to baseball games that have them after the game.

I like the professionals doing it much safer!!

Michelle have you noticed this in your area - ALL the firework displays around here are on Friday 4th instead of Saturday 5th...WHY? It doesn't fall on a school night...I'm confused...has somebody changed the date of Bonfire Night?!

Daniel stays with his daddy on Friday nights so I couldn't take him anywhere if I thought he could cope!!!

My in-laws love fireworks. The big holiday here in the states is the 4th of July. They all spend a ton of money and light off fireworks in the street. I don't necessarily agree, especially because they're drinking but I don't take part in it. DH loves it. I told him if he gets hurt I'll hurt him even worse.
