Do you have a bottle or jar to collect pennies (or the US equivalent), small change, pound/dollar coins?

We have jars for small copper and silver coins and my son also collects them in his money box.

My auntie collects 2 coins and probably has about 80 worth!

It's a pretty good way to save and the banks over here will usually exchange small change for notes for you when you fill your jar/bottle as they're always glad to get coins back in circulation.

We used to and Greyson has a piggy bank for all the pennies he can find. Now I hold on to the change and try to use exact change (its kind of a pet peeve when I cant make exact change). I will use the 'extra money' on days that Greyson and I get stir crazy and gotta get out of the house. He can get a puzzle or something at the dollar store or we can check out thrift stores. That way we are all satisfied and it doesnt really hit my budget.

We put the pennies in piggy banks for the kids. The rest of the change we spend.

I worked at a Burger King years ago and had a couple who came in regularly. Always went up the dollar, even if their total came to something and one cent. They saved all the change for vacations. I thought that was really cool.

Yes we do. We take it to the bank every few months and are always surprised at just how much is in there.
