Most of the time I cook dinner, even if it is something I zap in the microwave. Maybe 1-2 nights a week I do a sort of fend-for-yourself night, where we have leftovers, sandwiches, soup, etc. Kids love when we do that because it gives them a little variety and they can make their own choices. My daughter loves helping her baby brother out getting something to eat. Only rule is my kids do not use the stove but they can use the microwave or toaster for anything that goes in them.

When my husband works the 3-11 shift I don't have to cook dinner But when he's home at night I always cook dinner. Every now and then we'll order pizza or gets subs though (normally on the weekends if he's not working).

I always make something. When it's too hot to cook, I'll make pasta salad sandwiches or grill outside.

No. Most nights it is every man or woman for themselves. I never know what time DH will be home from work. He often doesn't eat until around 8pm and I can't wait that long.
