No we don't, we don't want to encourage the to nest on our patio since we live in an apartment.

We used to when I was a kid. Nothing like trying to get feed into a feeder taller than I was with 3ft of snow around my legs! My grandparents feed birds year round, but I'm not sure what they feed them other than the finches get those little black seeds (I'm not spelling it because of the other word is resembles!)

yup, I keep my bird feeder full all year round, I just use regular bird seed

Yep - we use just a couple regular feeders with the same birdseed all year long. We have two cats and they love to watch the birds and the squirrels.
