Hi everyone!

I am hoping to get a feel for how other parents are using the iPhone/iPad as an educational tool for their kid(s). It seems like there are a ton of options to keep track of: edu games in the Apple App Store, eBooks, videos on the web like Khan Academy, etc.

If you use anything like this, is it a pain to find the good stuff?

Well, for me there's nothing wrong with the use of iPads or gadgets as an educational tool. I guess that's why educational and kid-friendly apps are developed so kids can learn new things in a fun way. Moms should just make it a point to guide their kids at all times and be wise in choosing the apps for their babies. I'm actually eyeing for more interactive apps nowadays such as the Maddie and Matt applications and the likes.

My 9 month old doesn't care about the baby apps. He just shakes it around and attempts to chew on it, lol! But i would definitely install some learning games for him when he's a bit older. It just depends on the child's personality. I think it's important that they're having fun while learning.

New to this particular forum, thought I'd chime in.

I love the ipad and use it quite often at work. Everything in moderation. I just recommend using a stylus to help with fine motor skill development.
