When you get old and need someone to take care of you, would you expect your kids to step in and take care of you or would you rather be in a home?

Gosh you would ask the healthcare worker where I'd want to be....

Whelp.. if it weren't for parents we wouldn't be here today... They spend their lives taking care of us, I don't think it's too much to ask for for a little help...

Now, I'm talking I need a lil help with cooking and cleaning and maybe dressing ect ect...I'm not talking about total dependency..

If that was the case.. I would not expect my kids to take care of me.. but if they are going to put me in a home they BETTER come visit me at least once a week.. or I'll haunt them...

Ideally I would want to be able to live in my own home & hire someone to come & take care of me.

I'd want my kids to take care of me. It's how I was raised and how I plan to teach my kids. I won't expect them to do anything they can't handle, of course... I'll hire someone for that. For the day-to-day things and checking in on me though, that's the family's job.

I would put myself in a home and yah I want my daughter to visit me, but I didnt have her for the long run of her taking care of me, I just want her to be independent like I was and still am. That will also be up to her, now if I\'m totally unable to take care of my self or make the decision then yah she would have to.
But I hope I never have to be in a home I want to be 80 yrs old and still dance.

I am pretty sure my girls would step in. I don't know if I would want to be in a home or not really.

For me it depends on how much care is needed. Being watched over and given help with meals, and getting around is ok. Maybe help with meds or whatever. But I don't want my kids having to bath me and such.
