Does everyone baby you and try to take care of you.. or do you have to tough it up and still meet all of your daily demands?

What happens when your partner is ill? Do they turn into a shriveled up prune and can't do anything for themselves and having a cold is the worst thing that could possibly happen?

What about our single moms... What do you do when you're sick? Do you have a support system to help you?

I had to have a minor surgery on my foot. DH did a wonderful job of taking care of me, in the beginning. I couldn't be up and around that much, because being vertical hurt my foot. After a while, that was better.

I have been down for the count, with strep throat a few times and DH did a nice job of going to the store to get me stuff I could swallow and taking care of the kids.

Last year, once, we were both sick with a stomach bug, at the same time, so it was kind of every man for himself! Not fair to both be sick at the same time. Fortunately, the kids were teenagers and able to fend for themselves. I think he managed to go out to the store to buy some easy-to-prepare stuff for them.

Sometimes, he is a big baby, when it's just him, who is sick and he drives me crazy! The good thing, though, if he isn't feeling well and coughing a lot, etc, he sleeps in the basement. His snoring is horrible, when he's sick and it would keep me awake.

When I was early pregnant, and sick a lot, with my first daughter, he was able to prepare simple meals, since I just couldn't. He did that after she was born, too.

I'm a single mom so when I get sick I suck it up. Lol. I've had a few throat infections/strep thoat since I had Jas but that's about it.
I never really got sick while I still lived with Jas' father so I'm not sure how he would have been. He got sick though, some sort of swelling in his legs and he wasn't able to get out of bed. He flat out refused to do anything to help me for weeks and Jas was just a month old or so. I even offered to bring her to him so he could feed her or change her - nope! Drove me nuts!

My DH is awesome about helping me out bc I am a huge baby when I am sick! When he gets sick, he just wants to be left alone, so I am lucky that way. I also have my parents close by to help me out or to run to when I need to get out of Jay's hair!

If it is a weekday we are still able to take Ally to daycare and be able to stay at home alone to sleep and try to get better. On a weekend DH or I would take over for whoever is sick - same with after work and daycare on weekdays. It works out really well.
