Hello. I'm debating on what to get my 4 yr old Nephew and 1 yr old Niece for Christmas. My husband and I normally get them some toys but they have SOOOO many toys and also have enough clothes. I'm thinking about getting them savings bonds this year and doing the same in the upcoming years. I feel this is be better in the long run. They already get a ton of presents from other relatives.

What do you all think?

That's a great idea!!! They'll thank you for it later. I'm so over giving kids toys for christmas. DH and I are going to open a savings account for our DD, who will be 11 in Feb., and start by putting $300 in it for her. That'll make her real happy.

xxx

I think that's a great idea! They are young now so getting a physical right now gift isn't going to really matter to them..

Great thinking!

That is a really good idea. I don't think that they will notice that there was one less present to unwrap.

When they are young They never realize! lol ... They just want the boxes and stuff haha... Well shoot!!! Me and my cousins are still like that we unwrap all our gifts and put all the boxes and wrapping paper and stuff in a HUGE pile (i got a lot of family lol) then after we open everything us kids (wow thats not me any more... wow) would all jump in it and play for ages... And forget about what we got... its great...
