well i don't know if 5 is concidered small anymore but I did some baby proofing when mine were small. Like those plastic things in the plugs cabinit locks . My son wasn't allowed the small pieces that came with toys.
here was childproofed when the kids were little to a certain sense
we never moved anything cause bringing it back out would have encouraged them to be probably intrigued by the stuff ... we had glass centre table with crystals on the living room and never moved anything and the kids learnt from young NEVER to touch anything ... they never even attempted probably cause it was there all the time and nothing new to them ... same with my nephew and nieces ... never touched anything ... left everything where it was
Of course we put on the grill gates to keep them inside and the baby gates at the stairways to keep them safe cause you know kids dart in the blink of an eye

Not really. We have outlet covers. We dont have end tables/coffee tables with sharp edges...I keep my candles out of reach. I never have really "baby proofed" anything. I have always raised my kids to NOT TOUCH other people's things. I cant expect every place we go as a family to be child proofed,so they need to learn to respect everyone's things. Of course we dont leave knives lying around...but the kids just really dont get into to things...other then the cookies. This is the way I was raised,so I guess it's just what I am use to.
