I'm not a an expert, but I know enough to get into trouble.

I'm laying hardwood in a couple of rooms and have just a little to go.

The wife looks at me the other day and informed that if she knew we were going to have a child she wouldn't have wanted the wood floors.... Are you kidding me?!?!?!

Anyone else put wood floors down themself?

Hi there!

We've been toying around with the idea of putting in either lamanant or hardwood....but we've found a house that we really really really love, so maybe we will sell this one without really doing anything to it.

I have done some tile. Wood floors are pretty easy, once you do them. Are you doing Pergo or real wood? Your wife will be happy the first time your kiddo has an accident on the wood instead of the carpet....lol

I did laminate in our guest house; re: my poker palace, but I'm putting in real hardwood in our home. I've already done the living room and now I'm working on the den and breakfast area.

I'm putting down 5" wide hand scrapped teak from Virginia Mills. It's pretty easy, but since I'm working in the hub of the home, it can't be worked on every minute until it's done. I have to keep the room liveable.

Back when I lived with my parents before I met my wife or finished college, yeah I've installed hardwood floor. Our house when we lived in Michigan where we lived when our son was born had all hardwood floor, and whether it was his fear or ours, he was afraid of falling and it may have delayed him from walking on his own. Now we live in Indianapolis in a fully carpetted house, he's running and it really doesn't phase him any more when he falls.

We'll have orientals all over, but the wife informed me that we'll also have quilts on the floor, too.
