It wasn't a total shock, but then again it kinda was. She had Leukemia last year and they thought she was doing better until a few weeks ago. It showed up in her bloodwork again, but a lot worse than before. She had been doing okay, we thought. They started chemo again and everything, but I guess she was still so weak from last time. She developed a yeast infection in her blood and my DH called yesterday afternoon to check on her and his mom said they were only giving her a 35% to make it through the weekend, we had NO idea it was that bad until then. I don't know why they didn't call him! They knew all day yesterday and didn't bother to call. Anyway, they decided it would be best to let her go this morning, she didn't want to be on a respirator. Within 10 minutes of them turning off her meds and giving her morphine, she was gone. My dh is taking it pretty hard, as am I, I really did love her, she was a nice person. I'm not sure when the funeral will be. Thanks for listening.
Thanks ladies. Yes, she was my husband's sister. Okay, biologically she was his aunt, so she was probably in her 50's. His grandparents adopted him when he was little. She was raised as his sister though, but because of the age difference they weren't really that close. She was the only "sibling" of his that I liked.
