Whew!! It wasn't as bad as I imagined. They were much more helpful than I thought they would be. The worst thing that happened was one night I went to put Sam down to bed and handed Nolan to MIL. I assumed DH would be headed back out there but Sam insisted that Daddy lay down too. I still wasn't worried because Nolan was just sleeping and wasn't due to eat. It only took like 15 min for Sam to fall asleep but when I came out I could hear Nolan just screaming in our room. MIL was attempting to change his diaper and he had peed all over (he does that way too much!) but he was screaming because there was pee all over his face and she hadn't noticed! I wasn't happy and less than impressed with her diaper changing skills and it reinforced to me why my policy is to not leave my children alone with her and not to let the ILs babysit my young children (non-talking/walking) even if FIL is with her. I think DH actually got why I'm so uptight with her and the kids after that. But they did cook (even if they couldn't seem to get it on the table before 7) and clean and help with the kids so it was over all not the worst visit we've had.

Glad it wasn't as bad as it might have been! That would make me angry too! My mil is not one for changing diapers. She insisted she could take care of the 2 boys (2 1/2 and 1 1/2 at the time) and we left her with them for 2 hours and when we came back the youngest was screaming and she was ignoring him and when i picked him up he was full of pooh! I was not impressed. I mean my mil and yours had to have changed a lot of diapers but i guess they both forgot how to do it. But great it wasn't the worst visit ever!!

Glad things weren't awful! I know you were kind of dreading it!
