Just wondering if there is anything you ladies have tried, whether it worked or not, to defuse the IL problems?

Sure have.... I stay away from them! After my DH's mother tried to get him to break up with me and pushed him into a child custody suit 9 years ago costing my family $37,000 and 4 months of court. After all was done he couldn't wait to be with me again. He definatly used to be a mommas boy but now he stands up to her. A few years ago we had some relationship problems and the MIL tried to bud in again so now I just stay away from my DH's family.
