My MIL drives me absolutely crazy! She is so pushy and overbearing ever since I've had my baby that I feel like I'm about to scream. Right after I gave birth (at 3 am) she stayed at the hospital - thank goodness she wasn't in there for the birth although she wanted to be - and finally left at 6 only to come back at 7 am for hours. I only got one hours sleep! She wants to be called "Momsie" even though she knows that I hate the name and think it is too close to mom. She insists on it and I just can't bring myself to call her that. She comes over to my house (even though my baby is now 5 months old) AT LEAST four times a week for HOURS at a time. Everytime she comes over and the baby is sleeping she INSISTS on looking at her and then waking her up even though I tell her to make no noise, etc. She is jealous of the fact that this is MY baby and not hers and I think she wants to be the mother. She always tells me what to do with her and although advice is appreciated she doesn't need to act like I don't know what I'm doing. I love my daughter and I love my husband but my mother in law is going to drive me crazy. I want to move so bad that it's not even funny. She won't ever give the baby to me when she cries until I take her... I could go on and on but I'll stop now. Sorry I just had to vent. She's over here now and just took the sleeping baby yet again. I wish I didn't feel this way towards her as we used to have such a great relationship but I can't help it. She needs to respect the fact that I'm the mom and she's the grandma.

Your MIL is getting on my nerves! LOL
Well I can tell you that I think she needs to be put in her place...don't back away when she does those things with your baby --do the oppostie make a stand. It really does sound like she thinks she is the Mom. Before your baby gets older I'd put a stop to it now. That would drive me insane. I think my inlaws are finally realizing hubby and I are in control "not" them and that bugs them.
Good luck and keep me updated!
