We drove down to see MIL 2000 miles for 2 days. MIL had only seen ds 3 times and DD none. Before DS was born 3 years ago she said she was going to make a beautiful crochet blanket for DS. Well, never saw that. Yeah, it hurt - but what can ya do?
Then DD was born too 10 months ago, and didnt see one either.

When we went to see her last month, she pulled out a beautiful handmade blanket out of a bag and showed us and goes "Isnt this beautiful? I made this for xxxxx's grandchild - they are having their 4th! Ive made one for all of theirs so far "

I was dumbfounded. I dont think I need to say what made me so upset. I was more heart broken, then mad... that she buys stuff and makes stuff for her best friends grandkids than her own. DH knows its a show she puts on for them. But ... how can you do that to your own grandchildren?

That would have made me mad too. I would have just bluntly asked her when she intends to make the one she said that she would for your kids. I'm sorry sweetie!

That's awful! I honestly can't say how I would've reacted... but I can tell you that it wouldn't have been pretty.
