I've always heard that if you are a woman you are likely to pick a man like your dad (as in physical and/or personality traits) and men pick a woman like their mother.

Do you think this is true in your case?

It's funny because my Dad is tall with dark hair and so is my DH even though he's the only guy that I've ever dated that looks like that. I'm not sure about the personality thing. I know that's not true about my MIL and me although when DH and I started dating I was much skinier and we're both short with brown hair. So I guess it might be true.

HECK NO.

She is brunette. She is short. She curses. She drinks. She is conservatively dressed.

I am a red head. I am very tall. I am the quiet good kid. I dress conservatively. (that's all we have in common)

She's psycho.. I'd like to think I'm not.

I'm nothing like his mother - personality wise or looks wise.

Thank heavens.

And I think it is true that alot of people look for resemblances, but in DHs case, I think he was looking for the opposite. LOL!

No, she's a crazy, irrisponsible druggie, who couldn't raise DH. Not one bit

I totally agree about the acting like MIL part - We're nothing alike! But I can see somewhat of a physical resemblance when we started dating, not now though, I've put on a few pounds!

Neither of those sayings rings true for me or dh.

Infact I am the COMPLETE opposite of my MIL. Thats probably why me and dh get along so well. Dh is nothing like my dad either. Again, I don't think our marriage would last more than 2 seconds if he was anything like him. Just like I doubt it would last more than 2 seconds if I was like her. I think we both definateley foudn the compelte oposite of our parents and fell in love.

Aaaaahahahahahahahaha.

No, I'm not like her, unless I turn into a slobbering alcholic with short term memory problems, conduct rampant favoritism among my children, and cry at the drop of a hat.

PS: If I do any of those, please kill me. Thanks.

Acually MIL and I are very much alike. We both want to be in control...only I'd like to just be in control of myself and my kids...she'd like control of herself, me, dh, my kids, her hubby etc.....

We also have the same birthday...September 29th.

oh and we are both therapists...she doesn't work as one anymore though...
