I normally don't get flu vaccines, but was considering it this year b/c I am pregnant and a recent cold totally wiped me out. Well, I read on-line that you are not supposed to have any vaccines while you are on the medication I am taking (PTU, an anti-thyroid) as it suppresses your immune system (which may explain why that cold hit me so hard). I don't know if it is the same for those of you who are hypothyroid, but you may want to check to see whether vaccines are contraindicated with your meds.

Thanks! I will add this to my questions to ask my DR when she calls me about my bloodwork results from last week.

TFS! I'll keep that in mind should I ever need a flu vax. I normally don't do that one but I am somewhat concerned about the whole swine flu/pg link so I thought I'd discuss it with my OB when I get pg again & just take his advice.
