My names Brandee, and I have a beautiful 7 month old daughter named Aurora. I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and social anxiety disorder in the past, but im starting to doubt my past diagnosis. I recently started having health issues and went online to maybe find a symptom checker, which I did, and it only gave me one condition that could cause my symptoms: Hypothyroidism. Ive been wanting to be checked for it but with my current insurance, they will not cover a visit to an endocrinologist unless im referred by my physician and my physician is a ***** ( Im sorry, but she is. She says my bulged disk is "only a little bulged so stop being a big baby") and she wont even refer me to an obgyn, let alone an endocrinologist. So meanwhile, im trying to figure something out.
I figured that maybe I could try natural remedies to help my thyroid issues. What suggestions do you think I should try taking? I am already taking Niacin, just because i feel groggy and tired and exhausted 24/7 no matter how much I sleep. But what other remedies have worked for you or someone you know?

Hello & So sorry you have to be here though & for the pain in the buttocks dr! I've dealt with my fair share of them unfortunately. Where are you from? Can you not find another dr? It's such an easy test to see if you are hypo... a blood test (of course most dr's only test TSH but I HIGHLY recommend getting Free T3 & Free T4 tested as well). You can even order them online if you can't find a dr to help actually then you might can carry the results in to your dr & show her to prove you're hypo, if the results come back indicating you are & she might be more willing to help you then.

Honestly, if you are hypo you NEED thyroid hormone replacement. There aren't really any natural remedies for it though I have heard several things can *help*... iodine, selenium, maca root, etc.

So sorry I can't really be of more help.

I suggest also not to take anything until you get tested and know for sure. I think you should find a new dr and just ask for the test.
