Hello all
My name is Laurie (25) I was diagnosed in May with Graves disease. I gained 113 lbs with my pregnancy and I'm still 50+ over pre-pregnancy weight. Can definitely say my princess was worth it but we have to wait to ttc until I've lost this weight and I get it under control which I'm having a hard time dealing with. I have a rare Graves disease that doesn't make me skinny.. Yep just my luck I get the skinny disease and gain weight :/ I was originally checked for hypothyroidism and my doctors made me take the blood tests 4 times because they didn't think they were right. Well my TSH is less than .0001 so they were right. I did a rai uptake test and my 4 hr was over 30% and my 24 hr was over 70% Normal is 6 hours: 3 - 16% 24 hours: 8 - 25%... Oy Vey but anyways.. Now with my heat intolerance the Marine Corps has put my family in the middle of the Mojave desert in the middle of summer lol. Well that's my story so far

Laurie!!! 113lbs!! Holy cow!! Most I've ever gained was 35lbs. EEP! Was your OB not concerned? When are you getting your levels tested again?

BTW.... I'm also a non-vax'ing, CDing, babywearing, BFing mama.

Originally I was with an OB and at 16 wks and having already gained 25-30 lbs she told me I was going to kill my baby so I switched to mid-wives who said my body is going to gain what it wants to. Kinda wish they would have checked my levels though. It could have harmed my baby afterall... Luckily she was HUGE had to be induced because of size at 38 wks and she was 9.7

Oh I get my levels checked again in 2 wks to see if this medicine is helping. Hoping it does been having some serious chest pains.

We co-sleep too shoulda added that.. and taken off bf'ing since she decided that wasn't an option after 3 months :/ Dang latch issues

I'm Amanda, wife to Mike & mom to Austin & an angel. I'm with Stacey, holy cow!!!

It's so hard to lose weight... I really would like to lose 30 lbs but I don't see that happening anytime soon since we're about to be TTC but it's like now or never for me. We've been trying for 4 years now & I'm not getting any younger. I'm really hoping & praying it happens before I turn 35.

Oliver had latch issues from day 1. I had to use the nipple shield til he was 3mos and doing my own research, I found out he was tongue-tied. Once it was clipped, he was a nursing pro.... w/o the shield! We're still BFing and he's 15mos. It takes a lot of figuring out sometimes and trouble shooting.

They told me she had a high palette and sent her to speech therapy at 3 months but by then it was too late.. I couldn't let her starve while she was trying and pumping never worked for me even with a pump in style so I had to bottle feed :/
