I finally got a doctor to put me on Armour. He didn't want to but I was persistent and so he was willing to 'experiment' with in a safe guideline. He doesn't like it because it comes from a cadaver, and isn't regulated and blah, blah, blah. So I listened to him for a bit, I guess I looked grumpy because in teh end he begrudgingly agreed.
I even said what about synthroid and T3 supplementation, but he said it on;y ;ast minutes in teh system or some crap like that. But, I got Armour, I hope it helps. He is giving me 1.5 grains. He was bugged tha tmy TSH is so supressed. He admits to not being an dendo, and really didn't want to do this stuff, but I guess it is good that he was willing to make an exception. He will probably send me to the endo, either in Anchorage, or wait until he come sup here.
Sorry for typos, I am too lazy to fix them.
When they persisted in questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let the person among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." John 8:7 Sail Back to Me
I had to beg and plead for almost a year with my second doctor (the first wouldnt even consider), to get dessicated thyroid. It really has helped a lot. I felt awful on synthyroid, they tried going back and forth on dosing it was crazy and nothing worked. The new stuff has done great on the first dosage they gave me and in less than 6 months (i dont feel perfect but my levels are great and im feeling better).
My advise would be to crush your pills, wait an hour before eating, and split your dose so that you take 1/2 or 2/3 in the morning and the other 1/2 or 1/3 in the afternoon.
