I am a big Vit D endorser, but tonight I decided to look up and research the link between vitamin D deficiency and thyroid disease. The links are below. For those who have insulin resistance or diabetes, I found a HUGE amount of info in support of chromium and cinnamon (cinnamon is also great for thyroid support and can be found in a pill form, which I take) in helping with glucose control. If anyone wants those links, just ask. TAKE YOUR D3 LADIES!!! Esp with the winter approaching and the daylight hours are beginning to decrease.

I have been taking 2000 to 3000 miu of D3 for about a month now. Our sun is no good for getting Vit D in this part of the country for more than half the year. Pretty soon I won't even get sun

There is also a link with thyroid conversion problems if your selenium is low, so eat you some brazil nuts, beef and spinach

It is so interesting that you posted this, because my DH and I just recently came across this very idea, that Vit D and thyroid disease are linked. I'll have to see if I can find some more links that we were looking at - there was even a doctor who claims to specialize in this, I believe, and he is based out of somewhere in Georgia. But get this, he does video consulting for people that live too far away to come in and see him. Sounds kinda "too good to be true," but we have thought about just checking into it, and seeing if he is legit.

I'm in GA. Let me know what his name is once you find out.
