Hello, I have posted on jm on and off for a few years. I came across this board and have a question that you all may be able to help me with.

I been doctoring for 6-7 months trying to figure some things out. I am tired all the time and have this pressure headache alot which turns into a pretty bad headache at times. I wont go into all the sx i have but they have done labs, mri, ct, seen ent, have appts to see neurology and allergy dr. I got my reports and was going through them and my TSH test was 3.07, so not on the really high side but.... they just told me it was normal. They didnt test t3 or t4. I was wondering if I should try to persue this anymore or just take it as normal.

Absolutely pursue it! ANything over 2.0 should be treated according to the good doctors!

Google thyroid and check the links that are about.com and stopthethyroidmadness. They should never just test TSH, it is useless by itself.

If my TSH is above 1.75 I feel like garbage, at 3.7? I would be hurting, seriously. I would be tired, my hair would be falling out, I would be unable to lose weight and my joints/muscles would hurt.

I agree with Meghan, get further testing. Ask for free T3, free T4 and reverse T3 tests. I feel terrible if my TSH is over 1. I also get frequent headaches. KUP!

I agree with the others that you should get further treatment and tests. That TSH of over 3 could definitely explain your symptoms of not feeling well. Hope you get some help and feel better soon!
