Just wondered if any of you have experienced lack of menstruation. I'm not sure what's going on with my body lately, but even while on birth control pills, the past couple of months have seen practically no, and no AF. I tested with a couple of home pregnancy tests, just to make sure, and they came out negative (plus when I'm pregnant, I have nausea which I have not even an inkling of).

I'm on medication for being hypothyroid, which on all previous blood tests has been fine.

Do any of you have a lack of menstruation? Does that only occur if your levels are off?

I'm going to be getting bloodwork for my thyroid, pregnancy again (just in case), and even hormones that could indicate menopause, but being on the pill I don't know if that test would really come out right or not. Just wondered if anyone else had this going on.

I'm sorry I don't know for sure about that. I think it can definitely affect the menstrual cycle (it has for me), but I just don't know for sure if it can stop it altogether. I hope you get some answers very soon!

I once went 4 months without a period, all while my levels were fine, and I wasn't pregnant. My circle was routinely 41 days or longer. I was otherwise fine and wasn't TTC, so I didn't think anything of it. It was just normal for me. I did finally go see a gynecologist about it once I was thinking about TTC, and she ran a whole bunch of tests and said that I fit one definition of PCOS, even though most of my tests came back normal. We used NFP to become aware of my fertility and time intercourse, and we got and stayed pregnant with the help of progesterone on the first cycle.

To sum up my answer to your question, yes, but it might have been something other than the thyroid at work.

It's common. I'd see about getting your insulin and A1C tested. How is your weight?

My weight is right in the correct BMI range. I don't believe I've been tested for insulin and I haven't heard of the A1C test, but I was tested for fasting sugar, and that was fine.

And actually this last cycle, I did see some bleeding, which lasted for a few days, so maybe my body is just regulating itself on this new BCP.

Mine dissappeared for 7 months, during which I gained some weight. I did idk how many hpt's, I even had a blood test done, all negative and I thought surely they must be wrong lol. Had my thyroid test and it was fine. After the pregnancy scare, I decided that our family IS complete and I ended up having a tubal in December. AF reappeared in January. I will have to wait and see if it's regular, but I definitely think it had to have been related to the weight gain and most likely to my thyroid even though my levels seemed ok.

Just to update--I only saw AF for Jan and Feb. It's now May and have not seen it since. Taking my med regularly and supposedly my levels are normal. It's a mystery.
