I stared speechless at the screen for over a minute before I could explain to my husband WHY I looked like I'd seen a ghost.

No matter which scale of normal a doctor uses... I'm at least 20 points over it. I'm calling the Endo's in Cincy on Monday to see if one of them will see me asap and then refer me to one in Wi. I don't know if they allow self referrals.. but I'm sure if I send them a copy of the lab results they might make an exception.

But I need something done immediately, and I need to find an endo at home who can follow my care... When my thyroid levels came back abnormal in the beginning, they were coming in at 7 and 8. Obviously I'm getting worse.

Went to the care clinic that wrote the req for my blood work... doctor on duty refused to see me. Offered to refer me to the endo college. I spoke with them this morning and they're booking out in to September and told me to go to the Care clinic. *sigh*

Hoping that the dr who actually wrote the req will call on the weekend and tell me he'll at least write the TSH rx. In the interm, I'm going to book an appointment with an Endo somewhere in July if I can find one with an opening!

I knew medical care was pricey in the US.. but I didn't realize it was so hard to find in the first place...

Dr who wrote the lab req did take it seriously. 50 mcg Levothyroxine for 2 months, and am to find a regular dr in Wi and be seen as soon as I get home for more monitoring.

So here's to hoping I start feeling a bit better in the coming weeks! It would be really lovely to sleep 8-9 hrs and wake up feeling refreshed instead of plotting my next nap.
