How far apart are you and your siblings? Did you like being that far apart?

Was this a factor when you started planning your own children's spacing?

My brother and I are two years apart. I never really used that as a guide for my kids I always said a year and a half apart. That didn't happen considering my DS is 7 and my DD is 1 lol. The gap between my DD and the next won't be that big though.

I'm 25, brother 1 is 18 and brother 2 is 16

I'll follow their spacing if I have more than one... I think there is too much between the oldes and me.

I have a brother 7 years older and one 2 years younger. I really wanted to have kids about 4 years apart because I always felt the 2 years wasn't enough but that didn't happen for me. I am just hoping to have another baby

me- 25
sister- 21
brothers- 19, 15

it was nice with my brother being 9 when my son was born. i love the closeness. i had two together (almost 3 years). now i would like to space them out, because i awnt to be a mom for a long time. and it can be great having younger siblings like i did. i helped raise my brother, and i love him to death.

I have 4 siblings- 2 Oldest brothers are in there 40's ( Dads first marriage ) My brother from both my parents is 28 my sister from both my parents is 26 and im 24. I think the biggest factor between my 2 oldest brother and not being "close" is because the live in another state. Other than that we internet talk and phone. But not often enough. My other two that live in my city we are all pretty close. Do alot of things together.

Okay its kind of a complicated situation.

All my siblings are halfs.

I lived with my mom.

My mom had two girls. Me and my sister lets call her A. I'm 23 and A is 13. We are 10 years apart in age.

I didn't see my father until I was 18. But he has 3 children other than me. A boy we will call C. And 2 girls we will call J and S.

C is 20 J is 14 and S is 9

My brother C and I are 3 years apart.

My sister J and I are 8 years apart. (she is about to turn 15)

My sister S and I are 14 years apart.

J and I have the best relationship.

A and I are starting to finally have a decent relationship (it took me moving out, getting married and getting pregnant I guess)

C and I have virtually no relationship......long story but we are working on it.

And S and I...there is just way to much of an age gap, she is still very much a child and she doesn't comprehend I am an adult. Its a very difficult relationship.

I wish J, A, and I were a bit closer in age.

Yes I feel that this has some bearing on how many kids I will have and how far apart they will be. I plan to have no more than 2 children, though we may just have the one. If we have 2, I would like them to be about 6 years apart. I think its a good gap. It works for J and S.

I also do not want 2 kids back to back. I want the older one out of diapers and able to do a few things for himself

No more than 8 years thats for sure.

I didn't think about spacing at all when I was having children. My oldest brother is 16 years older than me, my sister is 15 years older than me and had her first child when I was 6 months old. Then I have another brother that is 11 years older and the last brother is 8 years older. My children are 17 1/2 years apart. I did not want my kids to be spaced that far apart but it's just how it worked. My boys love each other to death. My oldest is now 20 and my youngest is 3 and they are best buddies. If I had a choice in it though I would have rather had a shorter gap between or other children in the middle. That is not what fate had in my cards so I played the hand I was dealt.

My brother is 15 months older than me. I always knew that I didn't want kids that close together. I remember my mother telling me how difficult it was for her to have us so close together and how stressful it was. My first two are 2 years 8 months apart and the last two are 14 years apart.

11 years... there are some great things and some not about this spacing.

The good thing, is that i can have a babysitter, and i dont have two lil ones running around, the not so great thing, is that Nevan needs a lil sibling close to his age.

Which is why im lookin to have another one in 3-4 yrs.

My mom had all 4 of us in a 5 year span so we're all close in age. It didn't influence our spacing. I have a 6 year old and we are ttc our second now.

I have a bunch of half siblings that I do not now so I am not counting them in this.

David is 40
Brent is 37
Skye is 31
I am 29
Jake is 26

It was nice in ways. My oldest brothers and I are now forming a sibling relationship better. My oldest was on the Navy and gone or so long and I was like 9 or so when he went in maybe younger. So I remember him more as a babysitter. But ow we are close and its cool.

Brent was more of a parent to us younger kids and then he left home and stayed gone for 19 years. But came back last year and we are close again like not a day had gone by.

Skye and I are close and I think us being pregnant with our firsts at the same time brought us even closer. (Kali and my neice are 20 days apart in age)

Jake and I were always close. And still are. We email usually all week long.

And no, it didnt influence me and the spacing of he kids. It happened how it happened.

I'm 25, Charlotte is 24, Ashley's 22 and Louisa is 17.

My kids' spacing (will be 8 years, God willing) wasn't intentional. DH and I were 18 when Elliot was born and we didn't want any more children until we were in a better place financially and emotionally. However, my relationship with my siblings has taught me that being far apart in age doesn't mean you can't be close. I'm a lot closer to Louisa than to the other two and I hope my kids have that special bond too.
