My first DS had a valance whenhe was little that matched his snoopy theme. As he got older, the light in his room kept him up during naps and made him wake up bright and early... sooo after searching for some cheap blue curtains.. you wouldnt believe how high they are.. I just madesome from two twin sheets.

wah la!

and DS #2 has a valance that matches his bedding and I put a shade up to keep the light out..cuz I will never make curtains again lol

What do you have/or will have?

Both children have valances at their windows... but they have blinds that keep the sunlight out. During the day their rooms can be completely dark.

My son is 4 and we have blinds and a curtain so no light can come in. That's because my husband gets up really early for work and the sun is just coming up. If DH wakes Ben up by being too noisy and Ben sees the sun up he thinks it's time for him to get up when he really needs to sleep another 3 hours! lol

Right now my DD (Alexx) has white regular blinds and then hanging over it are some brown bamboo curtains, I plan to get something else after this baby is born, depending on if its a boy or girl

I'm thinking I'll get a valance and just have blinds for the rest. I might get the blinds to colour match a colour in the bedding theme, but, that's to be decided in the future!

We've got something, but I don't know the English word for it. lol

Litterally translated it's "rollcurtain"..

There's a bit of light coming through the sides, but I don't think it's that much that it will disturb the baby.
