Do you think a baby monitor is necessary for your family? No, I never used one for either boys. I like to check on them and could hear them

We have been using a Summer brand baby monitor that both lights up and has a sound option as well! We have a rather large home. If I'm downstairs while she is napping, I can hear her. Also it's peace of mind because I can even hear her if she sighs or yawns or even moves around at all. The sound quality is terrific no matter where I go in the house or even out on the back deck! For about $50, I like having the option of it's use.

We registered for the Sony Monitor...... maybe it's being a nervous first time parent but I just want to know I can hear him even if I go to the basement to start laundry or something.
